PDO Threading

PDO Threading or Mini PDO Threads are a non-surgical face lift that adds volume under the skin to tighten sagging skin and smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

What is a PDO Thread Lift or PDO Volumizing

Thread lifts and PDO volumizing are a new form of non-surgical face lift. If your face has loosening or sagging skin and you want a tighter, fresher more youthful look, this treatment may be suitable. There are no cuts or incisions, just injections.

How Does it Work?

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are a special medical grade thread that is thinner than hair, made of protein. Research has confirmed that PDO causes a reaction that improves the blood flow to the area stimulating new collagen formation. It also stimulates elastin and hyaluronic acid, both substances are key to maintaining firm, youthful looking skin. Once the thread itself resorbs, the area that it was has built a “scaffold” of new and healthy tissue.

Is It Safe?

PDO threading has over a decade long safety track record in surgery and wound closure. PDO threads gained FDA approval for tissue approximation in aesthetics

What Happens During Treatment?

Lidocaine injection applied to the entry points following which threads are introduced into the skin through a fine needle- into either the skin itself, just to build volume and collagen or along an area of laxity to lift and pull the area. Which treatment is done is based on your consultation with the physician and options are endless. The treatment results in an immediate improvement in appearance but the results will improve over many days and weeks as the PDO stimulates collagen. The appearance of the skin improves in terms of overall texture, becoming thicker, tighter and firmer as fine lines and wrinkles are reduced..

Which Areas Can Be Treated?

This is a very versatile treatment which can be used in any part of the face and neck to treat sagging brows, nasolabial lines, vertical and horizontal lip or forehead wrinkles, drooping cheeks, marionette lines, sagging jawline, lip edge and volume as well as wrinkles and folds on the chin and neck.

What Results Can I Expect?

Thread-lift treatments result in an instant and natural looking improvement in the      appearance of the skin. A process of natural protein synthesis then begins after about 10-14 days. Over the subsequent weeks results will continue to improve, peaking at around 6 months and lasting for up to 2 years as your own body produce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Making this form of non-surgical facelift a very long lasting treatment. The thread itself is completely biodegradable and dissolves within 6-9 months, after which new collagen has formed around the thread to continue to support results, maintaining a smooth and supple texture of the skin.

How Much Do PDO Threads Cost?

PDO thread lifts come in a variety of lengths as well as a variety of types. Which length and type is chosen depends upon the client’s goals. As the threads vary in cost, an actual fixed figure cannot be given without a consultation. The fee is based on the number of threads, types used and a procedural skill fee is applied. PDO threads can be used in so many ways and in so many places, that most clients do an area or two at a time. We attempt to give you the very best results but we do not want to use too few to obtain a goal as we want a beautiful result and a happy client!
